The first club road race of the season got of to a great start (26miles) with 23 riders taking part, It was set of in three groups with a 15 minute handicap between the 3 , first of was the 3 ladies, Eileen mc Laughlin (NPCC) who had a fantastic race, was the last lady to be caught at the 20 mile mark, the leading group of 7 riders broke away and there was a lot of attackes, first off was Martin Mc Devitt (fourmasters cc) but was soon caught by the chasing group, Jim Doyle attacked on the fourth hill on what was his 46th birthday, but was soon caught, the race came down to a bunch sprint with Martin Mc Devitt (fourmasters cc) taking the win in 1.04.45, ahead of Paul mc Cready (Roe Valley CC) and Jim Doyle (total Cycling CC)
